Frequently Asked Questions

We’re sure that right now your head is swimming with so many questions, which is why we’ve collated a list of FAQS for you.

If you have a question that has not been answered below, please don’t be afraid to ask, we’re more than happy to help.

When should I book my first consultation?

We’re ready to welcome you as soon as you wish. We recommend you start looking for your gown around 12 to 18 months before your wedding day, but there is no prescribed timescale, whatever works for you, works for us!

How much can I expect to pay for my dress?

We understand that every bride has a different budget.  Our gown prices start from around £1800 with some stock designer samples at discounted rates. Don’t be scared to share your budget with us, we’re here to help.

What do I need to bring to my consultation?

Yourself, wearing a big smile! But you might also wish to bring a nude bra and a favourite pair of heels.  We would also recommend wearing nude knickers, which can’t be seen through the material.  We do politely ask that you don’t wear fake tan to your appointment and only wear a light covering of make up without lipstick. It’s important that we retain a premium service, and tan and make up smears don’t come out easily.

How many people can I bring to my consultation?

Whilst we appreciate you may want to bring your whole bridal entourage, we find that having only 2 or 3 guests with you creates a more relaxing environment – after all each guest brings an opinion and sometimes those opinions can cloud your own judgement.

Can I bring a child/children?

While we understand a wedding is also a magical experience for children, we politely ask that you do not bring children aged 1 to 10, for their own safety, but also so that you can enjoy some special ‘me’ time.

How long will my first consultation last?

You can expect your first consultation to take up to 2 hours; a time to fully indulge in your wedding dress wants and desires!

What should I expect from my consultation?

From the minute you walk through our doors, our consultants are ready with their undivided attention. We’ll walk you through our rails of designer gowns and begin to build a visual picture of your desired bridal look.  We will first determine a silhouette that flatters your curves and from then have fun with textures, materials, appliqués, etc until we know you’ve found ‘the one’!

When do you recommend I order my gown?

When you’ve found the one, you’ll know. Your gown will be made to your specific measurements and it can take around 8 months for the gown to be delivered.

How much will I be expected to pay at the time of ordering?

We require a 50% deposit at the time of ordering and the rest is payable at your first fitting.

Are all your gowns made to measure?

Yes, we will need to take your full measurements to ensure the perfect fit.

Will I be charged extra for alterations?

Our seamstress will be present during your first fitting and will be able to advise what alterations are required and how much they will cost.  We take thorough measurements at the time of ordering your gown to ensure it requires few alterations, however almost all brides will need their hem altering.

When will my gown arrive?

The aim is to always have your gown arrive at Elisa Belle at least 8 to 10 weeks before the big day, dependant on when you placed your order.  Your first fitting will be booked around the same time to allow for alterations with our seamstress.

When do I choose veils and accessories?

During your consultation you may find that you fall in love with a specific veil or accessory we offer for you to try, and some brides will order those at the same time as their gown.  However, if you would like to book an accessories appointment at a later date, we will be more than happy to accommodate you.  Accessorising your chosen gown is so much fun!  We adore bringing your whole bridal look together.
